MCIS Zurich Insurance Bhd (MCIS Zurich) has recorded good growth in its recently concluded financial year ending June 30, 2011 on the back of its business plans.
“We have achieved admirable results for the previous financial year with Gross Written Premiums (GWP) increasing by RM55.5 million or 7.8 per cent from RM714.5 million in FY2010 to RM770.0 million in FY2011,” highlighted the group’s chairman, Datuk Tan Kim Leong.
“This reflects increases in GWP for both the Life Insurance Division of RM29.5 million or 6.1 per cent and for the General Insurance Division of RM26.0 million or 11.2 per cent during this period, which underlines the progress made by MCIS Zurich throughout the financial year.”
In the abovementioned financial year, MCIS Zurich had seen the launch of its new composite office concept in Johore Bahru, which marked the first of many branches that are to be redesigned and relocated to combine both its life and general insurance businesses.
This had been followed by the group’s launch of its new composite insurance branch and agency centre in Kota Damansara which further supported its expansion into new and exciting markets.
“Moving into this existing financial year, we are looking forward to even more branch relocations throughout the country to position ourselves in upcoming high growth areas as well as to capitalise on our ability to serve both Life and General policyholders as a composite insurer,” added the chairman.
“In addition to this, we are on track to launch our New Life Core system (NLC) in this financial year to further enhance our ability to cater to our policyholders needs.
“The NLC provides high quality customer service through improved efficiency and productivity of the company’s operations. It supports the generation of new products at a faster pace in addition to enhancing our ability to study, dissect and create better and more innovative and competitive products.”
Tan added that the group had taken a pragmatic approach in developing its human capital, in ensuring that employees strive towards greater deliverables and contribute to and be part of the company’s achievements.
“With a general shortage of talent in the industry, our approach to recruiting talents has yielded good success in bringing on-board good talents that further contributed in achieving the company’s objectives,” he highlighted.
MCIS Zurich will continuously focus on its customers’ needs by providing them with innovative products and the best of services and ensuring service quality is constantly monitored and improved.
