Mandatory accident scene photographs

Referring to and Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (PIAM) Members’ Circular No:169 of 2010, Clause 10 of Section B – Terms and Conditions of PIAM Approved Repairers Scheme (PARS) Application.

the abovementioned AmG Insurance Berhad (AmG) would like to advise fellow repairers that it is now mandatory for authorised tow-truck operator/call-man who arrived at the accident scene to take photographs of all vehicles involved in the accident, together with their vehicles registration number and severity of damages on the vehicles involved (before towing).

The photographs must show both directions of the road with its demarcation line, injured passengers (insured and all parties involved) and third party vehicle(s). Besides, you are also required to provide the name and New Registration Identification Card (NRIC) number of the accident scene’s photographer as per Appendix II.

These photographs will be part of the compulsory documents for claims process and shall be uploaded upon registration of claims, with effective from 1st November 2010 onwards.

Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in delay of claims process and will affect the turnaround time (TAT) of claims approval.

Shall you need further clarification you may feel free to contact PIAM directly.
